Guillermo Torrens was born in Argentina and Tango soon became his life. He watched it performed in houses, theatres, at Milongas and in the streets and longed to Tango professionally himself. His studies began in Rosario, Argentina with the legendary Orlando Paiva along with Claudio Omar and Maria Veronica and intensified when he moved to Buenos Aires in 2002 to study with teachers such as the “Maestro de Maestros” Raul Bravo along with Silvio Lavia. While he was living in Rosario his education in the arts covered more areas apart from dance and was enriched with studies in acting with Hector Ansaldi.
Studying classical dance at an early age influenced Guillermo. His artistic background has a strong emphasis on technique and dance interpretation. He studied ballet at Teatro Colon with Liliana Belfiore, a former Prima Ballerina of the English National Ballet Company. Even now he continues to learn from other excellent teachers. Guillermo has performed in many shows and theatres in Argentina such as Teatro el Circulo (Rosario), Teatro fundacion Astengo (Rosario), Teatro La Cooperacion (Rosario), Teatro Colon (Bs. As.), Teatro Nacional Cervantes (Bs. As.),Teatro Avenida (Bs As), Centro Cultural Borges (Bs.As.), Teatro El Globo (Bs. As.), Teatro El Cubo (Bs. As.) as well as at Casas de Tango such as Confiteria Ideal, Cafe Tortoni, Esquina Homero Manzi. He has been also member of the Ballet de Tango Pichincha, Ballet de Atilio Sanchez, Cuballet Rosario, Koi Ballet, Compania de Liliana Belfiore, Ballet Neoclasico de Bs. As., Compania Ballet con Humor.
From 2005 until 2007 he was the tango partner of Liliana Belfiore and together they participated in different shows and events and were invited to appear in TV shows. Guillermo has also performed outside of Argentina in many countries such as Brazil and in Europe. In 2007 he toured around the UK as the lead dancer in Tango Nuevo with the Tango Siempre Company. In 2011 Guillero performed with his partner Maria at the Midnight Tango show tour in UK and he continued with the Midnight Tango show at West End theatres in London and the national (UK) tours in 2012 and 2013. Guillermo's latest performing work includes his appearance on the iTV live show "This Morning" and the "Classic Brits Awards 2012" at the Royal Albert Hall dancing the music of Miloš Karadagli?. He also appears at the DVD of the "Midnight Tango" show which was released in 2011. Some projects include dance performances for the the national tour of internationally reknown tango singer Martin Alvarado and national tour with Tango Motion (Tango Siempre).
Guillermo with his partner Maria have won two LUKAS awards for 2 years in a row in the categories: "Tango Performers Of The Year" and "Tango Teachers Of The Year" (2011 & 2012)
Guillermo is an experienced choreographer. He has choreographed many of the shows and exhibitions with which he’s been involved. He has exctensively taught in Argentina, Switzerland and the UK where with his partner Maria run their own tango school called Tangounlimited. Their tango shcool involves in work such as classes, worshops, master classes and festivals and also includes teaching tango in schools. Currently their work is under their new name TangoMelodia.

Ο Guillermo Torrens γεννήθηκε στο Rosario Santa Fe της Αργεντινής όπου σύντομα το τανγκό έγινε σημαντικό κομμάτι της ζωής του. Το τανγκό ήταν παρόν παντού στην καθημερινότητα του, από τον κόσμο που χόρευε τανγκό στα σπίτια και στους δρόμους μέχρι τις παραστάσεις στα θέατρα και τις μιλόνγκες γεγονός που τον οδήγησε να ασχοληθεί ο ίδιος επαγγελματικά. Ο σπουδές του ξεκίνησαν στο Rosario στης Αργεντινής με τον θρυλικό Orlando Paiva , Claudio Omar και τη Maria Veronica και έγιναν πιο εντατικές όταν εγκαταστάθηκε στο Μπουένος Άιρες το 2002 για να σπουδάσει με δασκάλους όπως ο ¨"Δάσκαλος των δασκάλων" “Maestro de Maestros” Raul Bravo, καθώς και τον Silvio Lavia. Όσο ζούσε στο Rosario οι σπουδές του περιλάμβαναν και άλλες μορφές τέχνης πέρα του στο Αργεντίνικο Τανγκό καθώς σπούδασε ηθοποιία με τον Hector Ansaldi.
Το γεγονός το ότι σπούδασε κλασσικό χορό από μικρή ηλικία επηρέασε σημαντικά τον Guillermo. Το καλλιτεχνικό του υπόβαθρο βασίζεται κυρίως και δίνει έμφαση στην τεχνική και την χορευτική ερμηνεία. Σπούδασε κλασσικό χορό στο Teatro Colon με τη Liliana Belfiore, πρώην πρίμα μπαλαρίνα του English National Ballet Company.
Ακόμα και σήμερα συνεχίζει να εμπλουτίζει τις γνώσεις του με τη διδασκαλία καταξιωμένων και αξιόλογων δασκάλων. Ο Guillermo έχει εμφανιστεί σε πολλά shows και θέατρα της Αργεντινής όπως Teatro el Circulo (Rosario), Teatro fundacion Astengo (Rosario), Teatro La Cooperacion (Rosario), Teatro Colon (Bs. Ο Guillermo έχει επίσης εμφανιστεί σε παραστάσεις εκτός Αργεντινής σε χώρες όπως η Βρασιλία αλλά και άλλες χώρες της Ευρώπης. Το 2007 εμφανίστηκε ως κύριος χορευτής στην περιοδεία του show Tango Nuevo με τον θιάσο Tango Siempre Company. Το 2011 ο Guillero εμφανίστηκε με την παρτενέρ του Μαρία στην εθνική περιοδεία του show-μιούζικαλ στο Ηνωμένο Βασίλειο Midnight Tango και συνέχισε τη συμμετοχή του στα θέατρα του West End στο Λονδίνο και τις εθνικές περιοδείες στο Ηνωμένο Βασίλειο τα δύο επόμενα έτη 2012 και 2013. Μερικές από τις τελευταίες δουλειές του Guillermo συμπεριλαμβάνουν η εμφάνισή του στη ζωντανή εκπομπή του καναλιού iTV της Βρεττανικής τηλεόρασης "This Morning" και την ζωντανή παρουσίαση των τιμητικών εθνικών βραβείων κλασσικής μουσικής "Classic Brits Awards 2012" στο Royal Albert Hall όπου και χόρεψε στη μουσική του βραβευμένου Miloš Karadagli.

Ο Guillermo με την παρτενέρ του Μαρία έχουνε βραβευτεί με το βραβείο LUKAS για δύο συνεχόμενες χρονιές και στις δύο κατηγορίες "Τανγκό χορευτές της χρονιάς" και "Τανγκό δάσκαλοι της χρονιάς" (2011 & 2012).
Ο Guillermo είναι ένας πολύ έμπειρος χορογράφος ο οποίος έχει δημιουργήσει χορογραφίες για πολυάριθμες εμφανίσεις του.
Για περισσότερο από δύο δεκαετίες εχει διδάξει στην Αργεντινή, Ελβετία και Ηνωμένο Βασίλειο όπου και με την παρτενέρ του Μαρία είχαν τη δική τους σχολή τανγκό Tangounlimited. Στην σχολή τους εκτός από μαθήματα, σεμινάρια, μάστερ γκρούπς και φεστιβάλς διδάσκανε Αργεντίνικο τανγκό και σε σχολεία. Με βάση τους την Ελλάδα συνεχίζουν όλες τις δραστηριότητές τους με το όνομα TangoMelodia.
